The exhibit before you features an intriguing piece of history: a Norden bombsight, graciously loaned to us by the San Diego Air and Space Museum. This particular bombsight holds an intimate connection to the past, as evidenced by the accompanying log of its actual usage. The Norden bombsight, which remained highly classified until the early 1990s, served a crucial role in the military strategies of the 20th century. During the Vietnam War, its precision targeting capabilities were utilized extensively. Even earlier, during World War II, Bombardiers considered the Norden bombsight a critical tool, integrating it into their operations as a mainstay of aerial warfare.
