Paddington Uniting Church was established as Paddington Methodist Church in 1854. The foundation stone of the first weatherboard chapel was laid that year.
The present church structure was built for the Methodist congregation of ashlar sandstone with slate roof in 1877.
Now the site of the popular Paddington Markets on Saturdays. The market has been something of an institution here since 1973.
