Before this building was constructed of local granite in 1866, services were held in the area of the former bank building at the center of town (which is now the museum for the United States Naval Training Center, Bainbridge). Going further back in time, services were held at Abrahams Hall (which is now the Water Witch Fire House) on North Main Street.
You may have seen old photos from the early 1900s with beautiful trees lining Main Street. That was largely due to Father Arnd from this parish. Additionally to his service with St. Teresa's, he served on the Port Deposit Town Council in the 1890s and advocated the planting of Poplar trees along Main Street.
