The Ocean Hall

The Ocean. Still the most mysterious region of the Earth. The dark depths of the oceans hide many creatures only recently discovered and certainly other secrets waiting to be unlocked. Many of these creatures, like the creature pictured above, look like alien life. But  they are earthlings just like us.

Moving closer to the surface you meet our cousins. The whales and dolphins of the sea are mammals just like us. They need to breath air and stay close to the surface to allow that. They can grow enormous. Lift your eyes to the sky and witness a recreation of the largest  animal currently on the planet - the Blue Whale.

Surprisingly this massive animal's diet consists almost enirely of Krill. Small sea creatures that usually only grow a centimeter long.

Once you're ready to leave the great depths move on to learn about your own history. Next we'll be looking into our origins as a species.
