2004 R 1150 R ROCKSTER

The boxer engine’s torque and charisma made it ideal for use in “naked” bikes— standard motorcycles that left their engines and frames visible rather than hidden  behind aerodynamic fairings. In 2001, David Robb’s design team introduced the  stylish R 1150 R, which reached its aesthetic zenith with the 2002 Rockster. The  Rockster gave BMW a streetwise look that appealed to young riders like Matt Steensma, who bought the Rockster Special Edition 80 seen here in 2021. Along with matte white/Black Sapphire metallic paint, it came standard with integral ABS.
