1983 R 65 LS

In 1978, BMW launched its entry-level R 45 and R 65, but neither gained much  traction until Hans Muth transformed the plain-vanilla R 65 into the dashing LS. Like  the R 80 G/S, the LS has a sporty, youthful appeal, with an angular cockpit fairing and  seat section that comprise Muth’s “flyline,” which give the bike a feeling of motion  even when standing still. “The bike is an excellent all-day rider, and I wouldn’t hesitate  to ride it cross-country,” says owner Todd Trumbore. It’s a wonderful machine.”
