I often extrapolate from real-life scenarios using creative license in my work – in writing, painting and photography. This often leads to exaggeration as a means of expression, sometimes with humorous intent, sometimes giving free rein to fear.


In early 2020, social distancing emerged as a core protocol during the Covid pandemic. A culture shock. A brutal weaning from carefree life as it starkly receded into the past.


I envisioned the ultimate isolation - a floating bubble of existence, and I found a way to compose an image to express it. Extrapolation. Exaggeration. Run-amok fear. Not a mere “stage 1 social distancing” but a “stage 5 isolation”.
