Ink, gauche and paper. 2020
Hi my name is Mandy Hansen. I’m an artist here in Colorado that lives at the base of the Front Range south of Denver Metro area. I’m really excited to be part of this exhibit. My art during the pandemic: It stalled it and it resurrected new forms. I felt down at times and that that required a lot of effort to overcome some of those negative feelings. I basically felt like I was a blob and I started making these blots into something more. So I have a little poem that helps describe my work, my Doodle Blots, that are result of the pandemic.
Doodle Blots
I’m the blob making the doodle blots. Covid-19 is a blob and I feel so out of sorts.
I’m the blob making doodle blots. A mess of unknown.
I’m the blob making doodle blots. Amorphous shapes.
I’m the blob making doodle blots. Meditative designs channeling my last trip abroad to Japan and the Osaka aquarium.
I’m the blob making doodle blots. Creating, experimenting, morphing.
