One of the original 13 homes in Port before Port Deposit became a town in 1812, this building has stone walls that are 26 inches thick. Until 2024, the roof was covered in sheet iron from the McCullough Rolling Mills Iron Factory in Rowlandsville.
Water was piped to a cistern in the attic over the kitchen from a nearby spring.
