Elliot street

Conclusion

On this walk we got to see examples of many of the architectural styles of America. Starting at the Loring-Greenough House with Georgian, then moving through Greek Revival to the varying styles of the Victorian era. The houses of Monument Square tell the story of Jamaica Plain. And this architectural diversity is mirrored by the wide variety of people living in the area. Jamaica Plain has a harmonious intermingling of peoples from across many spectrums. This diversity makes Jamaica Plain the special place that it is today and extends the legacy of the neighborhood as a modern-day “Eden of America”.
