The Dining Room, and by extension entertaining here, was an important aspect of the house.
A dinner party was a major social event, often with a dozen courses and taking three hours, all under the control of Cremora as the lady of the house. She determined where people sat, according to the rules of etiquette.
A dinner party was designed to show the family to its best advantage, demonstrating its taste with fine china and silver.
The china and silver on display are from Hearthstone’s large collection of original Rogers’ pieces.
The Rogers family enjoyed entertaining and were renowned for being superb, generous hosts.
