16. Praça de Armas

As the broadest open space in the castle, the Arms Square provided for gatherings of the military garrison. The restructuring carried out by Ferdinand II, in the 19th century, transformed this site into a place of rest and contemplation, with the Moorish legacy invoked through the horseshoe arch entranceway in the wall.
