Decades ago, I fortunate to spend a month on Maui. I surfed nearly every morning, and explored the island in the afternoons. I fell in love with Maui. In the years since, my family and I have vacationed there many times. It’s always been a special place for us to disconnect from jobs and school, and to leave the demands of the world behind.
This image was captured in the Wailea area. I intentionally overexposed the sky and under exposed the palm trees to make the result, when converted to black & white, even more dramatic and graphic.
