When you spend as much time as I do on the beach, you begin to notice some of nature’s subtleties. But sometimes you don’t fully appreciate what you’re seeing until you photograph it, freezing the moment at 1/2000th of a second, as I did in this image. I turned my camera to this approaching wave because its size and power caught my attention, but what I love most about it is how the face of the wave became a tapestry of colors and textures.
