Business Room

In this room you will see safes original to the building as a post office.  The post master would store stamps overnight in the safes.    In the corner is  a water meter, and a display of Springfield Electric meters. The desk was used at Dick King's General Store in Orlinda where he sold everything from TVs to cars through Payne Brothers Chevrolet. Next to the desk is a flip chart which has pictures of businesses from Springfield's past.  Beside the flip chart is a jeweler's work bench from 1928.     Please go through door on left to see the Main street exhibit.
