Student Recreation Facility (737 S Halsted St)

Looking for a good place to work out? Head to the state of the art Student Recreation Facility for a good sweat between classes!

Completed in 2006, the three story facility promotes fitness, wellness, and recreation for University & community members.

The first floor includes an Aquatic Center, Equipment Center, Group Fitness Center, Climbing Wall, and Tropical Smoothie Cafe.

The second floor has a four Court Gym and is home to intramurals, and sports clubs.

The third floor includes cardio, weights, and has a three lane Jogging Track which is a perfect way to view the city!

As part of the gymnastics team here at UIC I have had my fair share of morning workouts here. Whether it is improving our cardio on the treadmills, improving our strength in the weight room, getting some much needed relaxation at the hottub, or getting a post workout protein smoothie at the smoothie cafe, the Student Rec is a great place to improve your fitness as well as relax.

In addition to this 152,000 square foot facility, we also have the Sports and Fitness Center in the IL Medical District and the Outdoor Field Complex which are in close proximity to our campus!

Membership is FREE to students paying student fees and is open faculty, staff, and even community members. It is currently open, so definitely check out the inside of this state-of-the art facility!
