Wood block print. 2020
This is a self portrait of myself on a night when I was deliciously alone. I knew what I wanted to do and I did it. If there's anything that can alleviate the hardship we are all undergoing, it's a crazy brand of blind self-confidence. It is a hope that doesn't make sense while our planet gets microwaved. It's a faith in ourselves and each other that allows for something good and beautiful among the wreckage.
This image was carved into birch plywood and printed onto archival quality paper with oil-based ink at the Anderson Ranch Art Center in Snowmass, CO in October, 2020. It is available as an open edition print.
