Acrylic on canvas. 2020
For the last 8 months we have all been isolated and all of us have been affected by many emotions. We experience anxiety, isolation, political and health fears, panic, happiness, boredom, ennui, and sometimes a strange kind of peace. Looking outward from a safe environment, it's hard to know what the future holds. These paintings are about this time of quarantine and looking outside both physically and virtually. The chemistry in the paintings describe another level of the forces that drive our feelings. It is truly a time of life inside out.
I am still able to work in my studio and my ideas, deadlines, and the way I feel as an artist haven't changed, but I am definitely aware of all the things as afar as health and politics swirling all around me.
