This piece was created in response to the number of infections reaching 1.5 million. Surrealistic shapes are taking over with a strong contrasting colors forming 3D structures.
Trying to remain positive no longer seems an option. The floral chapes continue to turn and morph into mutated forms. My palete has become more intense with strange dimensional passages.

Taking on a very surrealistic form, this image depicts a hooded figure, masked and sheilded, in response to the virus. It still resembles a human form but completely devoid of features.
This has been a hard journey to continually look inward and confront the fears that overwhelm us. I've changed from creating realistic landscapes to confronting the stress of all the changes we've endured due to the virus. In this latest abstract painting, I've imagined what a patient may see as doctors fight to save their life. I'm hoping that by confronting this fear and expression it visually, I can deal with the emotional responses it evokes.
