Acrylic Ink, digital collage.
There is a new normal of being hyper aware of every surface and body that one comes in contact with. Using imagery of skin and sensory cells, finger and palm muscles, Skin and Sensory, through digitally altered acrylic ink drawings, explores both this adaption to the new way of living and the adaption of relating to others amidst the absence of touch.
The spread of coronavirus has impacted my art practice by limited my access to art making materials and opportunities to share my work with others non-virtually. It has been a challenge completing work in this stressful environment we are currently in and I find that my work is more influenced now more than ever by my distanced relationship with others.
