This is composer and artist Nathan Hall. My piece "Chime Walk II" is comprised of several tuned wind chimes and iron shepherds hooks, arranged along a path in Majestic View Park. Visitors activate the piece gently as they pass along the path, and the vertical wind chimes evoke the native grasses that have been carefully tended in this area. As a trained musician I am always looking for ways that music can be more a part of our lives and for us to recognize the importance of sound, and its connections to nature. By having these wind chimes placed in such a beautiful location, I hope that people could take a moment to stop, slow down, create sound on their own, and connect that experience to our landscape.
