Tobias Fike, "Make Broken," burned and dead tree limbs, wood, found objects, plaster, plastic bags, zip ties, rope, and metal hardware

Although I looked for environmental themes that are a part of our own region, they are much more universal than that. I frequently see lone plastic bags in trees, bushes, or fences, or blowing in the wind like an artificial tumbleweed. While I find myself seeing these as beautiful, I know it is tragic, since they can cause harm to the environment. The tree is made, in part, of burned limbs from recent fires in the mountains. It is a reminder of the destructive damage to our forests, because of the extended fire seasons created by climate change.
